Homework Policy

S1&2 Science 

Homework will allow pupils to consolidate the work covered in class and revise for assessments. 

Multi-choice quiz or written homework approximately once per fortnight. This should take around 20 minutes. 

Revision and consolidation of classwork where appropriate, particularly prior to assessments. 

Quiz homework feedback will be given online and pupils should take time to read this and check with their teacher if they are unsure. 

Written homework may be self, peer or teacher marked with written or verbal feedback. 

S3&4 Biology

Homework will allow opportunities to consolidate the knowledge and skills learned in class. It may comprise multi-choice quizzes or exam style questions to help students prepare for formal assessments. Students should also regularly consolidate classwork. 

On average, homework will be once per week taking approximately 30 minutes. 

Quiz homework feedback will be given online and pupils should take time to read this and check with their teacher if they are unsure. 

Written homework may be self, peer or teacher marked with written or verbal feedback. 

S5&6 Biology

Homework will allow students to consolidate their knowledge and skills. Tasks will be mainly based on SQA past paper questions to allow students to practice for formal exams, although there may also be research tasks. 

Students will be issued multi-choice or written homework once per week, around 30-45 minutes in length. 

Students should also undertake regular consolidation of classwork, using resources on Teams.
