Homework Policy
Our homework policy reflects the fact that language learning is an on-going skill and pupils’ progress in Modern Languages depends on regular study.
Homework is generally issued via Show My Homework/Satchel One.
Both learning homework and written homework are used:
- so that pupils can self-assess what they know and what they need to work on
- so that pupils and teachers can identify areas for development and next steps
- so that teachers can plan ahead
- so that teachers can give feedback to the class, to individuals, verbally or in writing
S1/2 pupils are expected to:
- Learn the vocab covered in the previous lesson (5-10 minutes minimum per night). This will be checked through weekly/fortnightly vocab tests.
- Do written homework from the Tapas Menus at the end of the vocabulary booklets (see an example below).
- Complete other revision or preparation tasks, as set by the teacher.
- Learning Homework is a regular and ongoing task, whereas written homeworks are typically completed every two weeks.
